History

Sauer’s beginnings go back more than a century to a small business established by William N. Sauer in a world awakening to unparalleled industrial growth. Since its founding in 1876, Sauer has grown tremendously over the years, constantly expanding and enhancing its resources, personnel, and experience. To this day, the company remains closely held by the sixth generation of its founding family. While much about business and technology has changed over the years, one thing has remained constant: Sauer’s dedication to excellence in construction.

After opening an office in North Florida in 1970 to pursue industrial mechanical work, Sauer expanded its capabilities by offering general contracting services.

Now well into our second century of operation, the company is led by fifth generation ownership. Our principals have grown up in the family business with a strong sense of Sauer’s legacy and mission – To provide professional construction services that exceed our customers’ expectations.

Today, Sauer Construction is a subsidiary of Sauer Holdings, Inc., based in Pittsburgh under which there are several additional subsidiary and/or affiliate companies, providing clients access to a full-range of mechanical and plumbing services and structural steel fabrication and installation:
